This year, while selecting our Colors of the Year 2026, we began there too, with memory, and the power of color to transport us to the past, ground us in the present, and imagine the future.
We were looking ahead to what’s next in design and found ourselves pulled inward, into childhood moments, family traditions, and the spaces that shaped us. The colors we chose reflect that journey: hues that feel both of-the-moment and timeless. While trends evolve and come full circle, nothing is more constant—or more grounding—than home. We invite you to imagine what home can be through Grape Soda and White Pepper.

Grape Soda. Nostalgic, Moody, Soulful, Bold, Cozy. A rainy night-in, movie marathon, the small pieces of popcorn wedged between the corners of the couch. A slow dance, ring stain of Merlot on the counter.
White Pepper. A Saturday morning making pancakes with mom, batter caked on the kitchen cabinet, somewhere the cream-colored newspaper is thrown on the front door welcome-mat. Timeless, Bright, Warm, Familiar, Elegant.
